The Journey Is All -- The Destination is the Cherry

We hear from many different sources 'out there' that it's all about the journey, not the destination.

In my life experiences thus far, that has become Truth for me.

In this video I am demonstrating a couple big milestones that happened for me today.

Since I fractured my kneecap in July, this is the first time I've been able to do two particular poses fully - Bow Pose and Wheel Pose (Danurasana and Urdhva Danurasana).

The real key thing to know though is this --> that for me it's not about actually being able to get into the full pose. Those things are more of an assessment for me. And it's not actually about looking amazing in each pose either. If that was key for me, I wouldn't be posting these poses out there on the internet.

For me it's about what I feel and sense within me when I'm in a pose....that's where the true learning and transformation occurs for me.

This video has a lot more to say than just the poses it's showing.

It’s all the work, devotion, dedication and practice it took to get there.

Another thing that was pretty huge for me today is that this is the first time in a very long time that I did Wheel Pose without props. This is yet just another assessment. I hired a Personal Trainer at the end of March of this year. I wanted to get stronger and set certain goals for myself.

This proved to me that I made the right decision. I have gotten stronger and more flexible because of her and also because of my stubborn devotion I have for this one life I've got.

At 52 I feel stronger than I ever have in both body and mind.

If I tried to do this alone, yea I probably would've gotten a little stronger. But I would not have made the strides I did without her. Having someone with amazing knowledge and who meets you where you are and who is just as excited when you reach your goals as you are is so key.

We do not need to walk through our journeys alone!

It’s always the journey that makes you stronger.

The destination, if ever achieved and not the key to happiness, is just the cherry on top & not always needed.

And one other thing:

Don’t get caught up in what society says ‘age’ means or signifies.

HAVE YOUR OWN DAMN EXPERIENCE!!!

inhale - enjoy - exhale,
